John McCain pledges to spread war and instability in Middle East and Latin America By Paul J. Balles*
23 May 2008
Paul J. Balles views US presidential candidate John McCain’s stated desire to bomb Iran and destablize Venezuela and Bolivia, and notes that “McCain’s position will reinforce the wild desire of President Bush to go out of office with a bang”.
Is war ever a joke? US Senator John McCain thinks so. He sings "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran” and laughs about it. This twisted warmonger is the Republican presidential candidate for the United States!
During a speech to the Israeli Knesset, US President Bush warned against the "false promise" of appeasing Iran. Bush has repeatedly said that "all military options are on the table". He has said "Iran cannot be allowed to become a nuclear power". McCain agrees.
When the Jerusalem Post published a report that Bush intends to launch a military attack on Iran before he leaves office at the beginning of next year, it prompted a heated denial from the White House. Based on his stated position, one can’t help but visualize McCain cheering Bush on.
The article, which appeared in the Jerusalem Post, cited a report on Israeli Army Radio, quoting Israeli officials who had met with Bush and his delegation during their recent visit to Israel.
“A senior member of the president’s entourage said during a closed meeting that Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney were of the opinion that military action was called for,” the article quoted an Israel official as saying.
Senator Joe Biden said:
| Last week, John McCain was very clear. He ruled out talking
to Iran. He said that Senator Obama was ‘naïve and inexperienced’ for
advocating engagement. ‘What is it he wants to talk about?’ John asked.
If John can’t answer the question, we are in trouble. |
Former New York City Mayor Edward Koch fully supports McCain's tough stance toward the Middle East and his clear bias against Muslims. Koch says: “On the issue of standing up to Islamic terrorism, which is the No.1 issue, I think for the country for the next 50 years, he [McCain] has no equal.”
According to McCain, Iran is “the world’s chief state sponsor of terrorism”. Asked in a forum when the United States should send “an air mail message” to Iran in the form of bombs, McCain replied by to singing to the tune of the Beach Boys song, “Bomb Iran.”
Editorial Writer Pierre Tristan observed: "More formally, McCain advocates levying severe sanctions on Iran to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons technology, then stepping up to military intervention if Iran doesn’t comply."
Connect the dots and John McCain, the man running for the next president of the United States, would treat Iran as an Islamic terrorist nation, offer blind support to Israel and threaten Venezuela and Bolivia.
Sabre-rattling toward Iran apparently isn't enough for the warrior senator. Speaking before a crowd in Miami on Cuban Independence Day, he pledged that, if he is elected US president, he would keep the embargo against Cuba, prevent Bolivia and Venezuela from taking the same road as Cuba and strengthen ties with Brazil, Chile and Peru.
McCain’s position will reinforce the wild desire of President Bush to go out of office with a bang. That desire is reinforced by Israel’s position as reported in The First Post on 20 May 2008:
| The Israeli government has served notice on the White House
that it must take pre-emptive action against Iran's sites of nuclear
weapons development – or Israel will go it alone and do the job itself.
Israel has apparently given Bush a deadline of six months. |
One of the most bothersome things about the positions and combined threats of the Republican leadership and Israel is that the American public has been consistently tolerating the sadistic stance of these bomb-crazed maniacs. Columnist Frank Kent once observed, “The evils of government are directly proportional to the tolerance of the people.”
